Congratulations to Emelene & Dustin Wenger! Ava Lëanna and Stahsia Noel were born Tuesday, July 14.
Giving opportunity: During Vacation Bible School, we raised money for the Hopi Mission School, a small Christian school in northeast Arizona serving the Hopi people. You are invited to share in this offering by placing money in the basket on the table next to the sanctuary doors. We hope to raise at least $500.
Men’s Sunday school elective: Beginning today there will be a men’s SS class elective running through Aug 30. The topic will be “The Character of a Man” and will parallel the 7-week sermon series on Old Testament Kings. Please join us for one or all of the discussions regarding character development. (Meeting in the front of the sanctuary).

Church Office Affirmation Slate: The affirmation slate for 2009 – 2010 church offices has been placed in mailboxes and on the information table. Everyone is invited to affirm the persons listed. The forms are due to be returned to the reply box by July 26th.
Need for nursery volunteers: There continues to be a need for additional nursery volunteers for both the worship service and Sunday School hours. If you would be interested in adding your name to the rotation of nursery volunteers beginning in September, please contact Diane Black at 717-682-0510 or email her at db@lancatrac.com by August 14th. If you have other Sunday morning commitments, please let her know so that she can add you into the rotation conflict-free. Rest assured that you will find your Sunday mornings brightened by taking advantage of this volunteer opportunity.
Prayer shawl ministry: Although the Landisville Shawl Ministry is taking a summer hiatus from our monthly gatherings, we will be picking up our needles again in the fall to knit and crochet shawls for those among us who are experiencing life’s difficulties. If you have been considering joining the ministry, but don’t know how to knit or crochet, why not consider learning over the summer and joining us in the fall? There are a number of places in the community that teach both knitting and crocheting. Additionally, if schedules mesh, Jen Martin is available to teach the basics of knitting during the remainder of July and August. Basic knitting is not difficult and is a very rewarding handcraft.
