Everyone is invited for hot drinks in the fellowship hall & to stay for the Sunday school hour. Classes are available for all ages as well as infant and nursery care.
Congregational Announcements
There is opportunity to greet Lamar and Pat Myers in the multipurpose room following the worship service. During the Sunday school hour, they will be sharing more of their ministry experiences in Bulgaria.
Sharing our stories: Take the opportunity during Sunday School to share your “Sundaes on Sunday” stories.
Books in the lobby for sale: The shelf-worn/discontinued books on the tables in our church lobby Aug. 29 and Sept. 5 are being provided by the Choice books, PA bookrack ministry. They are provided for your enjoyment at a suggested donation of 1/2 the original sticker price marked on the back of books.
School supplies for local family: We have become aware of a local family in need of school supplies for this coming year. If you would like to donate notebooks, pencils, pens, etc., please contact Pastor Jonathan.
Meeting for ushers September 12: Come to a meeting directly after Sunday School in the front of the sanctuary on Sept. 12. Meeting will be brief. If you are not an usher but are interested in ushering on Sunday mornings, please feel free to come to the meeting or to contact Stu Cary.
If you have interest in giving “The Mennonite” to a college student or are a college student interested in a subscription, please contact Christy Kauffman. Mennonite Church USA’s monthly periodical, “The Mennonite”, has a special student subscription rate of $22 a year.
Support and remembrance: In order to care and support those who are grieving, and to help us remember those who have died, we plan regularly to recognize one year anniversaries of the death of people close to us. The pastors and office staff seek to keep record of congregational members who have died; however, we will always welcome hearing from you about these or other significant losses you would like remembered in the context of our worship services.
We are looking for at least two adult leaders for “Torchbearers,” our congregation’s boys club. They regularly meet at least once a month (usually Wednesday Night Out), for fun and faith-building activities. Jonathan Bowman will assist in ideas and planning. Please contact him if you are interested.
Ethiopian food fundraising dinner for Ethiopian Evangelical Church: Come to a fundraising dinner on September 11, 11:00-5:00 at the Ethiopian Evangelical Church in Lancaster, 143 Main St., Landisville. The purpose is to raise money for church purchase. All are welcome!
House cleaning help needed: A senior neighbor of our church is in need of house cleaning help. She is looking to hire someone for one day a month, and will trust anyone from our congregation. If you are interested, contact Christy Kauffman.
